Manchester City has made Désiré Doué one of its main targets for 2026. The English club is closely monitoring the Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder and already knows that a transfer would cost more than 120 million euros.
Désiré Doué is happy in Paris, but he is nonetheless intrigued by the idea of discovering the Premier League, especially given the XXL salary a club like City could offer him, according to Fichajes.
PSG’s Contract Strategy Faces Uncertainty Around Doué
While City is potentially preparing an offensive, PSG must handle a far more complex situation than it seems. According to certain sources, Paris has begun discussions to extend the player’s contract, amid a wave of renegotiations involving several squad members.
Any extension would involve a salary increase: Doué currently earns 500,000 euros gross per month, or 6 million per season, with a contract running until 2029. The club would like to add at least one additional year.
But this version is not shared by everyone. According to PSG insider Djaameel, Désiré Doué is not considered a priority at all. PSG is focusing its efforts on players already in advanced negotiations, such as Barcola, Dembélé, Ruiz, Mayulu, and Mbaye. Doué, for now, remains in the background of internal discussions.
Two completely opposing interpretations are therefore emerging: for some, Paris is actively preparing an extension; for others, Doué is not even part of the current discussions. This uncertainty casts real doubt on the young French international’s place in PSG’s contract strategy… while Manchester City, for its part, is already moving its pieces forward.
