PSG is no longer in command of the championship, and this 2nd place, one point behind RC Lens, is certainly a topic of discussion. When asked about the situation, Vitinha tried to provide some explanations without fully justifying it.
For him, if Paris is no longer the leader, it is not just a simple issue of level, but the result of a series of factors that have weighed on the team for months.
“We are having a good start to the season, I think we are doing well. Of course, being 2nd, we don’t like that, we want to be first as always,” the Portuguese midfielder reminded. He then mentioned the circumstances that, according to him, explain the loss of momentum: little rest after last season, accumulated fatigue, a grueling schedule, a series of injuries… all these elements, when combined, inevitably have an impact.
Vitinha, positive
However, Vitinha assures that the overall assessment remains positive, both in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League, despite this runner-up position that always causes discomfort in the capital.
On Saturday, against Rennes, PSG will have the opportunity to get back on track and perhaps reclaim its throne.
