The advisor within the QSI structure recently revealed details about his scouting method.
The Portuguese executive relies on an ultra-precise organization to ensure he is never caught off guard in the transfer market, with lists prepared in advance for every position and every budget level, as he explained in an interview.
Pre-built player lists by position and budget
“I developed a top-level scouting system. It’s based on a simple principle: I always keep lists of 9 players per position with 3 different price ranges. For example, if you have a budget of 40 million euros to sign four players and you spend 20 on the position where you have the greatest need, you only have 20 million left for the rest of your transfer window.”
“That means that to complete the puzzle, you have to pick from a more affordable list — but you still need to have that list ready. You know, I don’t like being surprised; I anticipate a lot. Anticipation is one of my greatest strengths. It’s part of the scouting mindset,” he explained.
