Paris Saint-Germain took a strong step forward with a 5–2 victory over Chelsea at the Parc des Princes. Long kept in check, the Parisian side eventually made the difference in the final fifteen minutes thanks to Vitinha and a brace from Kvaratskhelia, heading into the return leg with a three-goal advantage.
PSG had taken the lead early through Barcola, who unleashed a powerful strike into the top of the net after a cross from Dembélé and a clever layoff from João Neves. Just before halftime, Dembélé doubled the lead following a well-executed attacking transition.
Chelsea Fight Back Before PSG’s Late Surge
Chelsea responded twice. Malo Gusto first found the equalizer by exploiting space on the right side, before Enzo Fernandez brought the Blues back to 2–2 in the second half after a counterattack led by Pedro Neto.
The match turned in the final quarter-hour following a major build-up mistake from Jorgensen. Taking advantage of the situation, Kvaratskhelia set up Vitinha for the 3–2 before scoring twice himself to seal an emphatic Parisian victory.
