The Bradley Barcola transfer saga now appears to be very close to its conclusion. After several weeks of negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and the player’s representatives, the various parties are reportedly close to reaching a final agreement.
Bradley Barcola was not in Rennes on Sunday evening, and there appears to be a clear reason why: he is set to leave. The French forward is expected to join Liverpool unless there is a major last-minute twist in the coming hours or days. The deal, which has been in progress for several weeks, is now said to have entered its final phase.
Liverpool closing in after weeks of talks
Liverpool have been working on a move for Barcola for some time. The discussions are therefore not believed to be a last-minute development, with the Premier League club having monitored the PSG attacker for several weeks before stepping up negotiations as the transfer deadline approaches. PSG had long maintained a firm position over the player, but talks have reportedly brought the two clubs much closer together. “Everything is almost settled and, barring a huge turnaround, the Paris Saint-Germain striker should become a Liverpool player,” PSGINSIDE-ACTUS claims.

The source nevertheless advises caution until the final contracts are signed. A problem during the medical, a last-minute disagreement or a change of mind from the player could still derail the operation, although such a scenario is now considered unlikely. PSGINSIDE-ACTUS even believes Barcola can “almost be considered” a future Liverpool player. After weeks of negotiations, the transfer appears to have entered the home straight.
If completed, the deal would represent one of the biggest transfers of the closing stages of the window. PSG initially demanded €170 million, but the club are reportedly now prepared to accept a significantly lower fee, believed to be around €100-120 million. Barcola’s departure would leave Paris without one of their main attacking players and could force the club to react quickly before the transfer window closes. At this stage, only the final formalities appear to be missing before Barcola heads to Liverpool.
