Paris Saint-Germain are looking for a permanent solution for Renato Sanches. The French champions are now reportedly prepared to go very far to facilitate the Portuguese midfielder’s departure, with PSG willing to release him from his contract if he manages to find a new club.
PSG appear to have run out of options in their attempts to move Renato Sanches on. The decision is therefore radical: he could be released from his contract if he finds a suitable destination. It confirms that the 29-year-old is no longer part of the club’s plans. According to Foot Mercato, Sanches wants to relaunch his career in Europe and has already turned down possibilities in Saudi Arabia and MLS.
Several European clubs interested in Renato Sanches
There is reportedly no shortage of interest. Two Ligue 1 clubs are said to have made enquiries, while Ipswich and Hull City are also monitoring the situation in England. Torino in Serie A and Union Berlin in the Bundesliga have also been mentioned. The possibility of signing Sanches without paying a transfer fee could make the deal particularly attractive.

Renato Sanches has been under contract with PSG since the summer of 2022, when he joined from Lille for around €15 million after previously working with Luis Campos in northern France. However, the Portugal international never managed to establish himself in Paris. Injuries and a lack of consistency severely disrupted his first season before PSG sent him out on loan to AS Roma and later Benfica, his boyhood club.
Despite those different opportunities, Sanches has never consistently rediscovered the level that once made him one of European football’s biggest prospects and later a key player in Lille’s 2021 Ligue 1 title triumph. His PSG spell now appears to be entering its final chapter, with the club seemingly prepared to let him leave for free in order to close the case once and for all. The midfielder must now decide which European opportunity represents the best next step in his career.
