Bradley Barcola will leave PSG. Several sources reported the news on Thursday morning. Liverpool will pay around €116 million to PSG as a guaranteed fee, with several add-ons potentially taking the total value of the transfer close to €140 million. The documents are now expected to be exchanged between the two clubs within the next 24 hours to finalize the move.

Liverpool finally land their top target

Bradley Barcola had been one of Liverpool’s main priorities during the summer transfer window. The English club had been working on the deal for several weeks and gradually stepped up negotiations with PSG. Paris, however, had no intention of selling the forward cheaply. Despite being under contract until June 2028, Barcola was no longer considered completely untouchable in an attacking department where competition has increased further this summer. PSG therefore demanded a major offer before opening the door to a departure.

Liverpool eventually met the Parisian club’s demands. With the deal potentially reaching €140 million including bonuses, PSG are set to complete a huge sale for a player signed from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer of 2023 for around €45 million. The operation would therefore generate a very significant profit for the French champions.

Recent developments had already left little doubt about the outcome. As negotiations with Liverpool accelerated, Barcola was left out of the PSG squad, notably for the trip to Rennes on the opening matchday of Ligue 1. The decision was directly linked to his future and the ongoing talks, with PSG unwilling to take any risk with a player who could bring in such a substantial transfer fee just days before the transfer window closes.
