With just over 24 hours to go before PSG host Le Mans at the Parc des Princes on Saturday at 8:45 PM, Luis Enrique still faces several selection uncertainties. Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes are almost certain to miss the match, while Ferran Torres and Warren Zaïre-Emery remain doubtful. With a crucial Champions League clash against Manchester City approaching, PSG could field a heavily rotated starting eleven.
Paris Saint-Germain return to Ligue 1 action against Le Mans on Saturday following the international break. It is an important fixture for the Parisians, but also one they must carefully manage ahead of Wednesday’s challenging trip to Manchester City. Luis Enrique is therefore expected to make several changes, particularly to protect his most heavily used players.
PSG confirmed on Thursday that Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes have been granted additional rest. The French forward will return to training on Saturday, October 10, the day of the match, while the Portuguese defender will not rejoin the squad until Sunday, October 11. Mendes is therefore expected to miss the game, while Dembélé’s involvement looks highly unlikely. However, the club has not reported any new injuries concerning either player.
Several Selection Doubts in Midfield and Attack
In defense, Achraf Hakimi could return to the starting lineup, with Lucas Digne replacing Nuno Mendes at left-back. Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Illia Zabarnyi are competing for places in central defense. Several uncertainties also remain in midfield and attack. Senny Mayulu is unavailable, while Warren Zaïre-Emery and Ferran Torres are still doubtful.
Luis Enrique could therefore rely on a midfield trio of João Neves, Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz. Up front, Désiré Doué and Mika Godts could benefit from Dembélé’s expected absence. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is another option, although the PSG coach may decide to rest the Georgian international following his efforts on international duty.
PSG’s predicted starting XI against Le Mans: Safonov – Hakimi, Marquinhos (or Zabarnyi), Pacho, Digne – João Neves, Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz – Doué, Godts, Kvaratskhelia.
This lineup remains a prediction rather than a confirmed selection. Ferran Torres’ potential return could notably influence Luis Enrique’s attacking choices. The PSG manager is expected to provide further updates during his press conference on Friday at 1 PM, with the opening minutes of the team’s training session also accessible to the media. With just over 24 hours remaining before kickoff, one trend is becoming increasingly clear: PSG are likely to rotate their squad against Le Mans, aiming to secure all three points while preserving their energy for Manchester City.
