The president of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, electrified the Sorbonne during a major conference. Amid applause, the head of the capital club unveiled the colossal value of PSG — a figure that is mind-boggling.
“We had many opportunities to invest, but we chose Paris. We love France, and Paris is the most beautiful city in the world,” said Al-Khelaïfi. “We bought the club for 70 million euros, we invested, and today, we have built an empire.”
“Before, we said Dream Bigger; now, we are building.”
Then the president dropped the bombshell: “A year and a half ago, the club was already worth around 5 billion euros — probably more today.” A spectacular return on investment for a club purchased for less than 100 million euros in 2011.
But for the Parisian chief, the success of PSG goes far beyond the numbers: “The secret is the collective. The desire to fight for others. We have the best coach in the world, the best supporters. Before, we said Dream Bigger; now, we are building.”
A strong message and a promise: Qatar has no plans to let go of Paris. Between the battle for the Parc des Princes and the dream of a new stadium, QSI’s PSG no longer wants to dream; it wants to reign.
