The showdown is near. Over seven months after their 2–1 win at the Parc des Princes, Atlético Madrid now face a completely different beast: the newly-crowned Champions League winners, PSG, this June 15 in the Club World Cup opener.
And Robin Le Normand, Atlético’s defensive stalwart, knows it won’t be easy: “We all know PSG’s quality—they’ve shown it to everyone this year. (…) We know how to suffer. But if we can suffer less and score more, we’ll take that too!”
Determined and grounded, the Spanish international is backing his team’s fighting spirit: “We’ll be competitive, it’s in our blood. (…) If it ends with a win, we’ll take it any way it comes.” No promises—just pure Atlético grit.
PSG Staying Hungry
Fresh off their Champions League triumph, Luis Enrique made it clear: the season isn’t over just yet. “Life goes on—we want more,” the PSG boss told PSG TV.
Paris already faced Atlético in the UCL group stage and knows what’s coming: intensity, resilience, and a physical battle. “We remember what we achieved, but now it’s time to prepare for the Club World Cup. The players are happy, and we need to keep going and improve.”
“We’re in a great moment. It’s a different kind of season finale, but the ambition is still there. Atlético are tough, we’ve already played them this year. It’ll be hard—but this is a new competition, and we want to win it.”
PSG are focused. Atlético are fired up. Let the fight begin.
