After their convincing victory against Ukraine (4-0), the Blues approach their final qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup without pressure in Azerbaijan. The coach is set to make a massive turnover: 11 players will be changed.
Already qualified, Didier Deschamps will take this opportunity to rotate heavily, especially since several key players are unavailable: Mbappé and Camavinga have returned to Madrid, while Manu Koné is suspended.
For the first time since 2012, Deschamps is even preparing to change his entire starting eleven compared to the previous match. Lucas Chevalier will make his debut in goal. The defense could feature Gusto, Konaté, Lucas Hernandez, and Théo Hernandez. In midfield, Zaïre-Emery, Akliouche, Kanté, or Khephren Thuram are expected. Up front, several young players will have their chance: Olise, Cherki, Nkunku, Mateta, or Ekitiké, who made a good impression against Ukraine.
