Paris Saint-Germain secured their ticket to the 2025–2026 Champions League round of 16 this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. Despite conceding a 2-2 draw against AS Monaco, the Parisians advanced thanks to their 3-2 victory in the first leg in the Principality.
As in the opening encounter, Paris benefited from a numerical advantage following the sending-off of Mamadou Coulibaly shortly before the hour mark — a decisive turning point in this two-legged tie.

Now, attention turns to the knockout stage. And the challenge promises to be formidable. The draw scheduled for Friday at noon will determine the opponent: either Chelsea or FC Barcelona. Two explosive matchups lie ahead.
Against the Blues, it would be a rematch of the Club World Cup final won by the London side this summer (3-0). Facing Barça would bring a sense of revenge, even though Paris claimed a 2-1 victory in Catalonia on October 1 during the league phase.
In any case, PSG already know there will be no respite. On March 10 or 11 at the Parc des Princes, and a week later away from home, they will need to be fully prepared.
