The Paris Saint-Germain machine keeps rolling. On Tuesday night, PSG crushed Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 in the Champions League — a statement win powered by a masterclass from Vitinha and the long-awaited return of Ousmane Dembélé.
Once again, Vitinha ran the show in midfield — dictating tempo, scoring, and recovering relentlessly. His performance didn’t go unnoticed by coach Luis Enrique, who couldn’t hide his admiration after the match.
“It’s not the time to talk about just one player, but Vitinha is incredible. He controls everything we do. Many people criticized me when I started using him as a No. 6, but he can play anywhere. He’s an exceptional player,” said the Spanish manager in his post-match press conference.
Still, Enrique was quick to underline the collective spirit behind PSG’s domination: “After a game like this, we have to talk about the team. We need to keep playing this way.”
“It’s great to have Ousmane back”
Ousmane Dembélé, back from injury and back on the scoresheet, also praised his Portuguese teammate’s brilliance. The Ballon d’Or winner looked sharp and confident in his first match back.
Luis Enrique was just as delighted with the returns of Dembélé and Marquinhos — two pillars of his system. “It’s great to have Ousmane back. He scored on a beautiful assist from Barcola — that connection is special. We’re happy, but we have to keep going.”
With Vitinha orchestrating the play and Dembélé firing on all cylinders, PSG displayed their best football yet — fluid, ruthless, and frighteningly efficient.
