Paris Saint-Germain got their 2026 off to a strong start by beating Paris FC on Matchday 17 of Ligue 1. It was an important victory in this Paris derby, one that Désiré Doué was keen to savor when speaking to PSG TV.
Back in top form, Désiré Doué left a strong impression against Paris FC. PSG were solid and led by a player who, according to the stats, never loses. “We knew it was important to win the first game of the year, and on top of that it was against PFC. A derby always makes you want to win even more. We were at home, the fans were there for us, and it’s great to come away with the three points,” said the 20-year-old forward.

Against a well-organized opponent, PSG had to show patience and variety in their play. “I think when you play against a low block, it’s important to create danger: sometimes through passing, sometimes through dribbling. You really have to alternate and try everything against the opponent,” explained Doué, fully aware of the demands of this kind of match.
On both a personal and collective level, the young Parisian is already looking ahead. “For me, my objective on the pitch is of course to play, to perform and to enjoy myself. I’ve always had these goals in mind.”
“The year 2025 is coming to an end; it was a magnificent, exceptional and also historic season for the club. Now, in 2026, we’ll have to go and win many more trophies.” A clear message: PSG do not intend to stop while they’re on such a strong run.
