Gianluigi Donnarumma did not wait long to express his feelings after leaving Paris for Manchester City. The Italian goalkeeper admits to being deeply disappointed by how PSG handled his situation towards the end.
It’s a bitter end to the story for Gigio Donnarumma at PSG. Pushed out to recruit Lucas Chevalier, the Italian goalkeeper confides in Sky Sports. “I was disappointed by PSG because I had adapted,” he says. According to him, the last few months changed everything: a different atmosphere, incomprehensible decisions, a feeling of being sidelined without explanation. “I can never explain it… but you have to accept it.”
The Italian points to the sports management: “I was disappointed by their management. It’s regrettable, but you have to move on.”
A jab… then a diplomatic gloss
Donnarumma then shifts to a softer tone, but the message remains clear: “I always thank the supporters. I will always return to Paris; they were like a second home to me, such a fundamental part of my life. I am happy with what I have accomplished and what my teammates and the supporters have given me. I will always be grateful to them,” he says.
A bitter departure, an accepted new beginning
At City, Donnarumma wants to start fresh, away from debates, internal competition, and the constant criticism that marked his time in Paris. Behind the polite phrases, his speech sounds like a real jab at PSG.
