Former PSG Player Luis Enrique’s Unusual Method

In a video published on YouTube with Just Riadh, former Paris Saint-Germain player Presnel Kimpembe spoke openly about Luis Enrique’s methods and the role given to the club’s young players.

Kimpembe has not forgotten PSG. Now playing in Qatar, the 30-year-old defender, who spent more than twenty years at Paris Saint-Germain, the club that trained him, reflected on Luis Enrique’s approach. “I call him the psychologist. He’s incredibly strong in that area. When he comes to talk to you, he gets inside your head. He knows exactly what he wants to do with you, and you don’t even realize it. The way he talks to you, he starts managing you, encouraging you. The training sessions he puts you through, the way he stays behind you… In fact, he creates something you can’t escape from anymore. You feel like you owe him, in a way.”

Luis Enrique’s Impact on PSG’s Young Generation

Kimpembe also praised the new generation of Parisian players: “You end up giving everything to him because he treats you so well. He managed to do that with all the players, especially the young ones. When youngsters arrive, they’re usually still discovering things. But today, the kids who come in manage to reach the same level as players who have been established for years.”

“It’s a source of pride to see academy players performing with the first team. The squad is very young. Warren is playing, you have Beraldo, Kvaratskhelia, João Neves… All these players are 19, 20 or 22 years old.”
