Kylian Mbappé and PSG are opening a new front on Monday before the labor court in Paris. At stake are several million euros that the player is claiming since his departure.
Kylian Mbappé is not backing down. He wants his money. He will demand it on Monday during a direct confrontation with PSG. The captain of the French national team is claiming 55 million euros in unpaid wages and the reclassification of his fixed-term contract to a permanent contract, a point that allows for a direct judgment without going through conciliation.
Facing a court that is not accustomed to such high-profile cases, both sides will remain silent until the hearing. However, the two parties will meet around a table in Paris this Monday. Not the player directly, but the lawyers for both sides. The verdict will not be delivered for several months.
PSG “bad payer”
Mbappé’s lawyer, Me Delphine Verheyden, denounces a “bad payer” and asserts that her client wants to uphold his rights, but also those of other players affected by similar practices.
This legal standoff adds to an already strained relationship between the star and his former club. Excluded by Paris at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season for refusing to extend his contract, Mbappé was only reintegrated after the first matchday of Ligue 1. He left PSG a few weeks later, without the club receiving a single euro.
