After a thrilling 3–3 draw against Strasbourg, Paris Saint-Germain dives back into Champions League action. This Tuesday, October 21 at 9:00 p.m., the Parisians face Bayer Leverkusen in a crucial battle for top spot in the group.
Ahead of the clash, there’s some good — and not-so-good — news. Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos are back, but the squad still isn’t complete.
Dembélé and Marquinhos return… but won’t start
According to L’Équipe, Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé makes his long-awaited comeback after more than a month out (hamstring injury with France on September 5).
Marquinhos, sidelined since the 3–1 defeat in Marseille on September 20, also returns. Two key leaders back to guide a team still finding its balance — but neither is expected to start. Both could feature later in the game if needed.
Neves and Ruiz still missing
Not all the news is positive: João Neves and Fabián Ruiz remain out as they continue recovery work. Luis Enrique will once again have to improvise in midfield.
Probable lineup: Doué and Barcola up front, Kvara in contention
Paris is regaining depth. With Doué, Barcola, Mayulu, and Kvaratskhelia all available, competition for places is heating up.
In attack, Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola should start, with Kvaratskhelia competing with Senny Mayulu for a spot. In midfield, Warren Zaïre-Emery will lead the charge alongside Vitinha and Kang-In Lee. The defense should feature Zabarnyi, Pacho, Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes, with Chevalier in goal.
Probable PSG lineup:
Chevalier – Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Nuno Mendes – Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Lee – Doué, Kvaratskhelia, Barcola
Probable Leverkusen lineup:
Flekken – Quansah, Badé, Tapsoba – Vasquez, Fernandez, Garcia, Grimaldo – Poku, Kofane, Tillman
Kick-off: Tuesday, 9:00 p.m.
PSG gets its leaders back — just in time to make a statement in Europe.
