Lyon vs PSG: early hints about the lineup

For this OL–PSG clash (Sunday 8:45 PM, CET), Paris arrives severely depleted: Hakimi out for 6–8 weeks, Dembélé injured, Mendes absent, Doué in treatment, Barcola exhausted and uncertain. Luis Enrique has to patch up his defense and wings, as PSG must absolutely win to remain leaders before the international break.

PSG arrives in Lyon amidst a medical crisis. Dembélé (calf), Hakimi (ankle), and Nuno Mendes (knee) are unavailable after the clash against Bayern: the Frenchman will miss the national team, the Moroccan will be out for several weeks, and the Portuguese for at least three. Doué is out for two months, and a series of uncertainties — Vitinha, Barcola, João Neves, Fabian Ruiz — could be in the squad without a guarantee of playing.

Faced with this disaster, Luis Enrique must improvise. Zaïre-Emery could fill in on the right, Lucas Hernandez could shift to the left, and Kang-in Lee, Mayulu, or Mbaye could be launched from the start.

With exhausted starters, a nonexistent bench, and young players forced to step up, the trip to OL looks very tricky. Paris is paying today for its choice of a reduced squad, and without depth, the slightest alert can become a chasm. Before the break, this is a very high-risk trip for a PSG far from calm.

Probable PSG lineup against Lyon

With Hakimi, Dembélé, Mendes, Doué unavailable… and Barcola very uncertain:

Chevalier
Zaïre-Emery – Marquinhos – Pacho – Lucas Hernandez
Vitinha – Neves – Ruiz
Kvaratskhelia – Ramos – Mayulu (or Barcola if fit)

Options: Zaïre-Emery as right wing-back (most likely solution). Lee Kang-in can start if Luis Enrique wants to reward his performance against Bayern. Mayulu is the favorite if Barcola is too physically limited.
