On Sunday, PSG will travel to Lyon… in total silence from Parisian supporters. The Rhône prefecture has announced a strict ban: no PSG fan will be allowed to enter the Groupama Stadium.
The match has been classified at level 5 out of 5, the highest degree of risk. The reason: recurring tensions surrounding Parisian away games and an explosive rivalry with Lyon supporters, which has intensified since the 2024 French Cup final.
Risks of “serious public disorder”
The prefecture even mentions the possibility of “serious public disorder.”
As a consequence: an increased police presence, special measures, and a completely closed visitor parking area. Already depleted by injuries, PSG will also have to do without the support of its ultras as they try to bounce back after their defeat against Bayern.
A top clash… but without a Parisian voice to accompany it.
