Le Classique is approaching and the pressure is rising: PSG have returned to training with the obligation to win to stay top of Ligue 1, while OM are adjusting their squad with a mix of returns and absences ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
Preparation is underway at the Campus, with training resuming this Thursday and two more sessions scheduled before Marseille visit the Parc des Princes on Sunday at 8:45 p.m. Paris must secure a victory to remain leaders with Lens close behind. Achraf Hakimi is suspended. Quentin Ndjantou has rejoined the squad and is pushing for a spot. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Fabian Ruiz remain doubtful and are still receiving treatment. Up to four absences are expected on the Paris side.
Squad Updates and Key Absences Before the Clash
Safonov is set to start in goal again for PSG. Marseille are also weakened. There are no suspensions, but Amir Murillo is ruled out. Nayef Aguerd is doubtful with an adductor issue. Emerson Palmieri returns to the rotation. The winter transfer window signings are available, and some could be included in the starting eleven for this high-tension encounter.
The Matchday 21 Classique promises to be electric, with PSG close to their typical starting eleven against a reshuffled OM side. Luis Enrique could rest some players still regaining fitness, such as Ruiz, but is expected to rely in attack on the Dembélé–Doué–Barcola trio. In goal, Safonov is set to continue. On the Marseille side, Roberto De Zerbi is expected to count on Gouiri–Greenwood–Traoré to strike quickly on transitions.
Probable lineups
PSG: Safonov – Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, N. Mendes – J. Neves, Vitinha, Mayulu – D. Doué, O. Dembélé, Barcola.
OM: Rulli – Pavard, Balerdi, Aguerd, Medina – Hojbjerg, Q. Timber – Greenwood, Nwaneri, H.J. Traoré – Gouiri.
