Marquinhos’ Sub in a slump, PSG stands firm

Arrived for €66 million this summer from Bournemouth, Illya Zabarnyi is still struggling to justify his price. His latest performance against OL (3-2) has reignited criticism: fragile, hesitant, far from the expectations placed on him.

Since the start of the season, it is fair to say that Zabarnyi has been disappointing… but the PSG management remains steadfast. Penalties, a red card, gross fouls… the Ukrainian, much like Lucas Chevalier, is having difficulty finding his footing in Paris.

However, according to Le Parisien, there is no panic within the club. In Paris, it was expected that the Ukrainian would go through a difficult adjustment phase: new language, completely different environment, high tactical demands… Nothing alarming for the management.

PSG supports Zabarnyi

PSG remains convinced of Zabarnyi’s potential. It is now up to him to prove that he can hold his own in a European champion defense. Even though PSG is looking for reinforcements this winter… in the central defender position.
