PSG: another warning with Marquinhos, sidelined with an ankle injury… the streak of setbacks continues.
PSG really didn’t need this. Against Athletic Bilbao, Marquinhos once again left the pitch prematurely, suffering an ankle injury after an accidental collision with Oihan Sancet. On the replay, the Basque midfielder clearly plays the ball first… but then crashes into the PSG captain’s ankle, sending him straight to the ground.
After spending a few moments down, Marquinhos tried to get back up but quickly realized he couldn’t continue. Luis Enrique was forced to bring on Illia Zabarnyi at halftime.
Defensive holes already piling up
This latest physical setback comes at the worst possible time for PSG, a squad already hit with several injuries since the start of the season. The captain — usually a pillar of defensive stability — is suffering repeated interruptions and may once again miss several matches. The timing couldn’t be worse, with Hakimi already out and Beraldo reportedly heading for an imminent departure.
The club must now wait for medical tests to determine the severity of the injury… but it’s yet another file landing on PSG’s crowded medical desk.
