Kylian Mbappé is making no secret of his choice for the 2025 Ballon d’Or. The Real Madrid star has gone all out in support of his French teammate Ousmane Dembélé, calling him the rightful winner of football’s most prestigious individual prize.
“For me, he deserves it, and I hope he wins. I’ve backed him from the start, it’s natural. In the end, it doesn’t depend on us, but if it did, I’d have already delivered the trophy to his house!”
Mbappé also gave a nod to Achraf Hakimi, hoping the Moroccan defender will get the recognition he deserves in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
On Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, Mbappé struck a diplomatic tone: “Yamal? He’s from Barcelona, so we can’t say too much… but he’s a very good player.”
Rodri sides with PSG, too
Spain’s midfield anchor Rodri joined the debate, underlining PSG’s dominance this season: “PSG have been the team of the season, so it’s hard not to give the Ballon d’Or to one of their players. I’d love Lamine or Pedri to win, but sportingly, it might be Ousmane Dembélé or Vitinha.”
With stars and pundits piling praise on PSG’s key men, the momentum is clearly swinging in Dembélé’s favor. The countdown is on ahead of the Ballon d’Or ceremony on September 22 — and Paris will be watching closely to see if “Dembouz” finally takes the crown.
