Mbappé and the €55m dispute: “I’m not the bitter ex”

Kylian Mbappé

In an interview with L’Équipe Magazine, Kylian Mbappé addressed his financial dispute with PSG. The Real Madrid forward is still claiming €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, but insists this isn’t a personal war with his former club.

“It’s my legal right. I signed a contract, I just wanted to be paid. I have nothing against PSG, I love this club, I have friends there. But it’s the only way to get back what I earned, through hard work,” explained the Frenchman.

Mbappé admitted he had already noticed the missing payments while still in Paris: “When the money doesn’t come in, you notice. I could have made a scandal, but I thought it wasn’t worth it.”

He regrets the image the procedure has created but wants to set things straight: “You quickly look like the bitter ex… If this could have been solved in an office, I’d have walked out with my salary and this story would never have existed.”
