Lucas Hernandez isn’t losing sleep over facing Lionel Messi. On the eve of PSG’s Club World Cup Round of 16 clash against Inter Miami, the French international kept it calm and confident.
“He’s been an icon of football for many years, and that won’t change,” Hernandez said of his former PSG teammate. “He’s a great player, sure, but we’re here to win. That’s all that matters.”
Asked about any special plans to contain the Argentine legend, the 29-year-old defender shrugged off the idea of a Messi-focused game plan. “We’re approaching this like any other match. Messi is just one player in the opposing team. He won’t change how we prepare.”
