Metz vs PSG: Two Major Absences, Two Returns

PSG travel to Metz this Saturday for Matchday 16 of Ligue 1 (kick-off at 7:00 p.m., broadcast on Ligue1+), with a mixed medical update on the eve of the match. Second in the standings, Paris face the league’s bottom side at Stade Saint-Symphorien with several uncertainties still surrounding the squad.

In a statement released after Friday’s training session, the club confirmed that Ousmane Dembélé has resumed individual training. This gradual return is not enough to consider an immediate comeback after his illness earlier in the week, and the Paris winger is therefore expected to miss the trip to Metz.

Key Squad Updates Ahead of the Match

Marquinhos remains under treatment. Affected in his right hip, the captain is dealing with muscle fatigue and is heading toward being ruled out, barring a last-minute surprise.

On a more positive note, Lucas Chevalier and Lucas Beraldo do not appear in the medical report, raising hopes of their inclusion in the squad. Achraf Hakimi, however, is still absent as he remains with the Moroccan national team, where he is completing his recovery ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on December 21.

Luis Enrique will therefore have to make do with a still-depleted squad, but with a clear obligation to deliver a result against the league’s last-placed team.
