Officially, everything is fine. Unofficially, there are issues. According to L’Équipe, the relationship between Yohan Cabaye (director of the training center) and Luis Campos (sporting director) is far from smooth. Several employees at the center even speak of a “total lack of dialogue” between the two men, with decisions being made independently by each.
At the center, there is now talk of “Cabaye contracts” and “Campos contracts,” indicating a silent rift between the training and the sporting direction. The disagreements mainly concern the promotion of young players, with some being approved without consultation.
Last recent example: the promotion of certain talents like Yanis Khafi or Wassim Slama. An internal source recounts: “We weren’t even asked for our opinion. Wassim was coming back from injury; he wasn’t ready. It surprised everyone.”
However, Cabaye and Campos have managed to collaborate recently, particularly to convince Quentin Ndjantou to extend his contract. But the discomfort persists, with some mentioning two opposing visions.
The club denies any conflict… but is monitoring
PSG insists to L’Équipe that there is “no disagreement,” only a “desire for change.” And Cabaye is reportedly supported at the highest level by the president. “Yohan is supported by the president,” a source close to the club specifies.
But behind closed doors, one question remains pressing: Who really decides the future of PSG’s young players? Cabaye… or Campos?
