PSG may have dismantled Atalanta 4-0 in their Champions League opener, but one blemish remains: Bradley Barcola’s missed penalty just before half-time.
Paris are striking fear across Europe with their play — but not from the spot. Barcola’s tame effort, taken with only two steps, was easily saved by Carnesecchi.
It marks the fourth miss in PSG’s last eight penalties (excluding shootouts), after failed attempts by Vitinha against Arsenal, Gonçalo Ramos versus Auxerre, and Ousmane Dembélé against Angers.
When asked about the miss, Luis Enrique deflected with a touch of humor but clear irritation: “For the penalty, you have to ask Barcola, not the coach.” A comment that hints the pecking order of penalty takers is still very much unsettled, despite PSG’s dominant collective display.
