PSG: Chevalier Set to Miss the World Cup?

Once again left on the bench during Sunday’s dominant 5–0 win in the Classique, Lucas Chevalier (24, 1 cap) has confirmed his loss of status at Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique once more preferred Matvey Safonov, who started for the third consecutive match.

France Staff Concerned About His Playing Time at PSG

Lacking game time, the current number two goalkeeper for France — who started the last match in Azerbaijan on November 16 (a 3–1 win) — could see his chances of taking part in the 2026 World Cup decrease. Didier Deschamps is waiting for him to win back his place at PSG and rediscover the level that earned him his call-up.

Will Chevalier end up watching the World Cup on television? Otherwise, Brice Samba could take back the backup role behind Mike Maignan. Still according to the newspaper, Robin Risser (Lens, 21) and Jean Butez (Como, 30) are also among the options being considered.
