PSG: Dembélé, an exit in sight!

The Ousmane Dembélé file is becoming a real issue at PSG. According to information revealed in the “100% PSG La Tribune” podcast on Ici Paris Île-de-France, the club and the French winger still cannot agree on the financial terms of his future contract.

The main sticking point concerns the structure of his pay. “PSG and Dembélé can’t find common ground on the salary in his new deal, especially because of the fixed and variable parts,” the journalists on the podcast explain.

Contract talks at a standstill

The player’s recent history is part of the problem: “Since he hasn’t always played every match and has had physical setbacks, that has an impact on his annual salary.” For his part, Dembélé is said to have a clear demand: “He would like the fixed and variable portions to be as close as possible.”

This contractual situation is inevitably raising questions about his medium-term future. Still according to the same source, a departure cannot be ruled out if nothing changes quickly, even though Dembélé is under contract until 2028. “If he hasn’t extended by next summer and his second half of the season is similar to his start, his future will probably be written away from Paris.”

PSG therefore faces a classic dilemma: secure one of its key attacking players or risk letting the situation drag on. The coming months, and especially Dembélé’s performances in the second half of the season, will be decisive in settling this saga.
