Paris Saint-Germain announced on Thursday that two of their key players, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes, have been granted a few additional days of rest. The decision was made in agreement with Luis Enrique and the club’s sporting management, with PSG facing a particularly demanding schedule in October.
There is no cause for concern regarding Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes at this stage. The two PSG stars will not immediately return to team training, but their absence has been planned. In an official statement, the club confirmed: “In agreement with the coach and sporting management, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes have been granted a period of rest. They will resume training on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, respectively.”
Different Return Dates Ahead of PSG’s Busy Schedule
Ousmane Dembélé will return to training on Saturday, October 10, while Nuno Mendes will resume the following day, Sunday, October 11. PSG have not reported any injuries involving either player. According to the club’s statement, this is simply a recovery measure aimed at managing their physical condition.
The decision comes as Luis Enrique prepares for a series of important fixtures, particularly in the Champions League. PSG will face Manchester City on October 14, followed by Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on October 17 and FC Barcelona in the Champions League on October 20. With such a demanding schedule ahead, the Parisian coaching staff appear determined to prioritize the recovery of their key players.
