PSG held to a draw, Nuno Mendes vows to respond

Despite the goalless draw in Bilbao (0-0) in the Champions League, the Paris dressing room did not sink into frustration. Nuno Mendes (23 years old, 6 matches, 2 goals in UCL) acknowledged on Canal+ that Paris can—and must—do better.

Nuno Mendes admits PSG wasn’t necessarily at its best. But he believes things will improve in the coming matches. In January, PSG will travel to Sporting Portugal, the left-back’s former club, and they will need a win to secure a spot in the round of 16—an objective missed on Wednesday night at San Mamès.

Nuno Mendes calls for improvement ahead of decisive fixtures

“No, no disappointment. But we have to do more. We were not at our maximum. We needed to do more to win, and we weren’t able to. This is not the result we wanted, but we keep going. We have time to correct what didn’t work, and it will be better in the next match,” assured the Portuguese international.

The defender remains confident that PSG has the resources and determination to raise their level and secure qualification. Mendes insists that the squad is focused on learning from this setback and delivering a stronger performance in the crucial games to come.
