Paris Saint-Germain could have a golden opportunity in the market for young talents. The JJ Gabriel transfer saga is gathering momentum. Regarded as one of Manchester United’s brightest prospects, the English attacking midfielder celebrated his 16th birthday on October 6. Yet his future already appears to lie away from Old Trafford. According to Foot Mercato, Gabriel is unhappy with his situation and has requested a move, reportedly surprising United’s management. Michael Carrick holds the youngster in high regard and even included him in the first team’s summer preparations. Manchester United have offered him his first professional contract, but an extension currently appears unlikely.

PSG Face Competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich

Gabriel’s representatives have reportedly opened discussions with several major European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. For Paris, the potential signing fits perfectly with their strategy of recruiting exceptionally talented young players. However, competition is expected to be fierce, and the player’s financial demands represent a major obstacle. According to Foot Mercato, Gabriel and his representatives are seeking an annual salary of approximately €1 million, a considerable amount for a 16-year-old who has yet to make an official first-team appearance for Manchester United.

While his salary expectations are substantial, the potential transfer fee could be remarkably low. According to The Guardian, citing FIFA regulations on training compensation, a payment of around £350,000, equivalent to approximately €413,000, could be sufficient under the scenario discussed. However, this figure remains an estimate rather than a confirmed transfer fee. For PSG, the deal could therefore involve a relatively modest compensation payment but a significantly greater financial commitment in wages.

Manchester United could lose one of their most promising academy players before he even makes his professional debut. The English club have not given up hope of keeping Gabriel and are still trying to convince him to continue his development at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, PSG are closely monitoring the situation, although no agreement or signing has been announced. With the youngster reportedly determined to seek a new challenge, several European heavyweights interested and a potentially affordable compensation fee, the JJ Gabriel transfer saga could accelerate quickly.
