Just eleven days after lifting the Champions League trophy, Paris Saint-Germain has touched down in California. The mission: win the Club World Cup, starting with a high-stakes clash against Atlético Madrid this Sunday.
Fresh off their stunning 5–0 win over Inter Milan, the PSG squad flew straight to Los Angeles, settling in Irvine, just south of the city. There, on the University of California campus, Luis Enrique’s team will train behind closed doors as they prepare for their first-ever appearance in the revamped Club World Cup (June 15 to July 13).
A swift, focused transition
Nineteen players left Paris on Tuesday, with Marquinhos, Beraldo, Pacho, Donnarumma, and Lee Kang-In joining them on site. Despite the tight turnaround and fatigue from international duty, PSG is fully focused on continuing their title streak and making history once again.
Notably absent is Illia Zabarnyi, as PSG couldn’t register him in time due to an unresolved transfer with Bournemouth. The Premier League club is holding firm at €75M, while PSG has offered €50M. Talks are set to resume on June 16, when the transfer window officially reopens.
PSG’s Club World Cup schedule:
Sunday, June 15 (12 PM local / 9 PM France): PSG vs Atlético Madrid, Rose Bowl Stadium
Wednesday, June 19 (3 AM France): PSG vs Botafogo
Sunday, June 23 (9 PM France): PSG vs Seattle Sounders
