PSG. Lucas Chevalier injury… the One detail that saved his career

Lucas Chevalier came frighteningly close to disaster. The 24-year-old PSG goalkeeper was on the end of a brutal tackle from Lamine Camara during the defeat against Monaco — an incident that immediately sent shockwaves through the stadium and across social media. His ankle bent violently, he limped off the pitch… everyone feared the worst.

The video went viral, but according to L’Équipe, the news is surprisingly positive.

“According to the first observations, Lucas Chevalier, who left Louis II limping, will not need to undergo any exams. The staff will ask him to receive treatment over the next few days and the PSG goalkeeper should be available for the Rennes match.”

His flexibility — the tiny detail that changed everything

Chevalier’s ankle twisted badly, but it didn’t snap. And the goalkeeper knows exactly why: his natural flexibility likely saved him from a serious sprain — or something far worse. He escapes with a heavy knock, painful but not serious.

He admitted it openly:
“For my ankle, I think everyone saw it. Today, my career could have taken a very different turn and I was very lucky. I didn’t dwell on it — once it was over, it was over.”

And he added, clear-headed:
“Sometimes there are actions we really need to avoid. Today, I just know I was very lucky and that I’ll be able to keep playing football every week.”

PSG can breathe again — and so can Chevalier. Now the hope is that his recovery goes smoothly… and that refereeing becomes more consistent to avoid seeing such dangerous tackles again.
