Hernandez has joined Thomas Müller, Yann Sommer and Mats Hummels in an international consortium that has acquired 90% of Estrela da Amadora. The project is led by investment firms ADvantage and LEAD, with the backing of the KI group.

Still under contract with Paris Saint-Germain, Lucas Hernandez is adding another dimension to his career. At 30, the 2018 World Cup winner has become a co-investor in a professional football club while continuing his playing career. The connection between the four investors is clear: Hernandez, Müller, Sommer and Hummels have all worn the Bayern Munich shirt. Another former Bayern figure, Johannes Mösmang, has also been appointed president of Estrela. “Estrela Amadora is a historic Portuguese football club, deeply rooted in Amadora, with a unique identity and a passionate community,” the new president explained, saying he wants to build the new project in a “rigorous and sustainable” way.
The choice of Estrela da Amadora offers several advantages. Based in the Lisbon suburbs, the club is currently playing its fourth consecutive season in the Portuguese top flight and sits 11th in the league. Another important feature highlighted by the new owners is that Estrela owns its own stadium, a significant asset in the consortium’s long-term development strategy.
Lucas Hernandez therefore remains fully focused on his career at PSG while beginning to invest in football away from the pitch. The Paris defender is now a co-investor in an ambitious Portuguese project alongside three particularly familiar faces from Bayern Munich.
