Mika Godts played his first minutes for Paris Saint-Germain against Rennes. Coming on at half-time in the 2-2 draw at Roazhon Park, the young Belgian forward played his part in PSG’s second-half comeback.
Godts was introduced during Rennes vs PSG. Less prominent than Ferran Torres, the Belgian still tried to make an impact. After the match, the 21-year-old spoke to Ligue 1+ about his appearance and his integration into Luis Enrique’s squad.
Mika Godts Already Settling in at PSG
Asked how he felt about his debut, Godts explained the instructions Luis Enrique gave at half-time. “Yes, I came on at half-time and the coach just told us to bring more intensity. We had to try to come back, and that’s what we did.” Trailing on the scoreboard, PSG produced a much more attacking display in the second half and eventually fought back to make it 2-2.

Having joined this summer, Godts also says he has quickly been welcomed by his new teammates. “Yes, they welcomed me well and they help me. Today, we had to win the second half. We created a lot of chances, we tried, but it finished 2-2.” The Belgian therefore leaves Rennes satisfied with his integration but disappointed with the result, as Paris had hoped to begin their Ligue 1 season with a victory.
For Godts, however, these first minutes represent an important first step. In a highly competitive PSG attack, the young forward will now look to make the most of every opportunity Luis Enrique gives him.
