PSG Not Leaving Parc des Princes Anytime Soon

PSG - Parc des Princes

Paris Saint-Germain has officially revealed the two finalist sites for its potential new stadium — Poissy and Massy — with a final decision set for autumn 2026. A symbolic date, just ahead of the next Paris municipal elections, suggesting that no immediate move is on the cards.

A future in Poissy or Massy? Maybe — but not now

While the club continues to float the idea of leaving the Parc des Princes, there’s no deadline in sight. City officials weren’t surprised by the announcement: “Nothing new under the Parisian sun,” quipped one advisor close to Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

The Parc remains in play

The renovation plan for the Parc des Princes is still alive — on paper, at least. Should a political shift occur in 2026, PSG might re-open talks to buy or expand the current stadium. While the left remains opposed, the right has expressed openness to a sale, and some ecologists call for a public consultation.

Importantly, even if PSG were to build a new stadium elsewhere, it wouldn’t be ready before 2036. That gives plenty of time for the Parc option to remain viable.

Supporters are standing firm

The Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) is unwavering: they do not want to leave the Parc. While their relationship with the club is stable, the ultras demand that every possible solution to stay at the Parc be seriously explored before turning the page on the iconic stadium in Paris’s 16th arrondissement.
