Another setback for Nuno Mendes? The full-back was taken off at halftime during the Champions League match against Tottenham — but it was only a precaution.
His early exit immediately raised fears of a new setback, especially given his injury record this season. But PSG can breathe a sigh of relief.
According to RMC Sport, the Portuguese defender is not injured. Luis Enrique simply chose to substitute him as a precaution, avoiding any unnecessary risk in a physically demanding match.
A simple precaution
Good news for Paris, especially since his replacement, Lucas Hernandez, was sent off late in the game after a needless elbow on Xavi Simons.
PSG still managed to win 5-3 thanks to a hat-trick from Vitinha and goals from Pacho and Ruiz, in a night full of twists and turns.
