The PSG injury curse has now reached the very top of the club. President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has undergone surgery in Paris after suffering a serious injury during a padel match. A fractured wrist, damage to a shoulder — the club boss wasn’t spared.
Al-Khelaïfi was present at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday for the 5–3 win over Tottenham, but he was unable to travel with the squad to Monaco on Saturday. Before heading to Doha for several commitments linked to the Formula 1 Grand Prix, he had no choice but to undergo surgery. Injured days earlier in Milan, he finally had the operation on Thursday in the French capital.
Post-operative pain forced him to delay his flight and remain at rest until Saturday.
And he’s not the only one. Luis Enrique also required shoulder surgery recently after a cycling accident. It truly is a nightmare season for PSG: more than twenty player injuries… and now two members of the staff down as well. And the campaign isn’t even one-third complete.
