Paris Saint-Germain suffered a frustrating elimination against Paris FC (0-1) this Monday in the Coupe de France. After the match, Parisian forward Gonçalo Ramos (24 years old, 25 matches and 10 goals in all competitions this season) did not hide his anger on beIN Sports, directly targeting the opponent’s attitude and the refereeing.
“Only one team wanted to play. The other team, I don’t know what they came to do. Congratulations to them for qualifying, but they did not come to play football. And the referee let it happen.”
“I think that’s the most serious part.”
“I think that’s the most serious part. They played anti-football from the first minute and the referee just watched. He did nothing, said nothing. This shouldn’t happen: referees are there to enforce the rules and prevent this, we are here to play! And it’s not very pleasant to see that,” said the former Benfica player, clearly very annoyed after this elimination.
It remains to be seen whether these statements will be perceived as those of a sore loser or as a reflection of real frustration regarding the match’s scenario.
