Ordered to pay €150,000 in connection with the decision to reverse the fixture against Rennes, Paris Saint-Germain now knows what the money will be used for. As with all fines imposed on French clubs, the money will not simply be treated as regular revenue by the Ligue.
PSG received a significant fine from the LFP because the Parc des Princes pitch was deemed unplayable, forcing the match to be moved to Rennes and the fixture to be reversed. According to L’Équipe, these financial penalties are redistributed across several specific areas to fund various initiatives within French professional football.
Several Areas Funded by Club Fines
Part of the €150,000 paid by PSG will be used to support the Ligue’s CSR initiatives, particularly projects related to the environment, health and inclusion. The funds also contribute to the LFP’s marketing and digital activities, as well as assistance programs for former professional players.

Finally, part of the money collected through fines is donated to associations connected with football. PSG is therefore not the only club affected by this system: all financial penalties imposed on French professional clubs are redistributed according to the same principle.
