Ultra dominant but still silent on the scoresheet, Paris Saint-Germain once again let two points slip away on Athletic’s pitch (0-0) in the Champions League. It was a bitter outcome for Vitinha (25 years old, 6 matches, 4 goals in UCL), who did not mince his words on Canal+.
Vitinha is not happy. PSG could have qualified directly for the Round of 16 on Wednesday night. A victory was needed. The disappointing draw ruined that opportunity.
Vitinha criticizes PSG’s missed chances and stalled qualification
“Satisfied? No. We want to win, always. But if you don’t score in a match like this, it inevitably becomes complicated. We had many chances… and we missed them. It happens, but it changes everything. They were well prepared, pushed by their crowd. Yes, there is work to do, but if we finish our chances, we don’t experience that kind of end to the match. 0-0, we move on,” the Portuguese midfielder said.
PSG remain 3rd in the standings as the regular phase nears its end. But Paris still has not officially secured its qualification.
