Vitinha has not forgotten his football romance with Marco Verratti. The 25-year-old Portuguese, a huge fan of the “Little Owl,” is still savoring their shared season at PSG. For him, playing alongside the Italian, now at Al-Duhail, was pure luxury.
Is Vitinha the heir to Verratti? One might think of Joao Neves as the new little owl of PSG, but the other Portuguese midfielder had the Italian as his idol, with whom he played in Paris for a few months.
“A pleasure, a privilege,” says Vitinha in Ici Paris Île-de-France. Just after arriving at the club, he found himself alongside a midfielder who was “100% complete,” capable of doing everything: defending, attacking, organizing, inventing. “He was a magician,” he summarizes.
Vitinha is convinced that their duo worked wonderfully. His only regret: not having played together for longer. A nice tribute that will surely not go unnoticed by Verratti… third in the last Ballon d’Or and still highly respected in the Parisian locker room.
