PSG

On Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, PSG kicked off their European campaign in style with a 4-0 win over Atalanta in the opening round of the 2025-2026 Champions League.

Paris completely neutralized a willing but limited Atalanta side, dictating the tempo with control and intensity. Nuno Mendes once again confirmed his status as one of the world’s best full-backs, relentless on his flank. Fabian Ruiz impressed with his positional intelligence and influence in midfield. And Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, under scrutiny after a few quiet outings, lit up the Parc with a decisive Champions League performance.

Missed chances too

Luis Enrique took a gamble by starting young Senny Mayulu as a center-forward. The experiment didn’t really click, though it hardly affected the team’s dominance. Still, PSG were wasteful at times: Barcola’s missed penalty and wayward efforts from Mendes and Zaïre-Emery kept the scoreline from being even heavier.
