This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain host AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes (9pm, live on Canal+), in the second leg of the 2025-2026 Champions League playoff. After securing a 3-2 victory in the first leg, the Parisians head into this decisive clash with a slight advantage.
Just hours before kick-off, Le Parisien and L’Équipe revealed their predicted starting XI selected by Luis Enrique. Both outlets agree on a 4-3-3 formation and on almost the entire lineup expected to start.
Strong attacking trio and tactical continuity expected
Both newspapers predict the same attacking trio: Barcola – Doué – Kvaratskhelia. The forward line will be tasked with confirming the attacking efficiency shown in the first leg and putting pressure on Monaco’s defense from the outset.
In midfield, there is complete agreement as well: Neves – Vitinha – Zaïre-Emery. A technical and well-balanced trio expected to control the tempo of the match. At the back, no differences either: Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi form a stable defensive line aimed at protecting the advantage earned in the first leg. Safonov is set to start in goal once again, as he has in recent matches, while Chevalier currently appears to be out of contention.
