After PSG’s triumph in the Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo, Vitinha shared his joy on PSG TV.
PSG were pushed to the limit. The Intercontinental Cup final may have been the toughest match of 2025. Far from the dominance shown in the Champions League final, Paris had to go all the way to a penalty shootout to claim the last trophy of 2025. And Vitinha admitted it was extremely difficult.
A Hard-Fought Intercontinental Cup Final
The Portuguese midfielder spoke of “an incredible feeling” after a “very important” final, won through sheer effort. “It was tough, we sweated a lot, but we’re very happy. We feel the job was well done, with a lot of effort and also a bit of luck,” he said, while also praising the decisive performance of Matvey Safonov: “A great Safonov, incredible!”
Vitinha also paid tribute to the Parisian supporters, who made the trip to the stands in Qatar. “They’re always there. Even here, they helped us. We were able to choose their side for the penalty shootout, and that was important. Everything was in place for us to win,” he concluded, highlighting the decisive impact of the fans in this historic success.
