Paris is already getting ready to rally behind the PSG. Just days before the Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday, May 30 in Budapest, the French capital is preparing to turn completely red and blue in support of Luis Enrique’s men.
This truly is PSG’s Eiffel Tower season: a jersey paying tribute to the famous Parisian monument and a potential celebration planned right beneath it in case of victory. The club is not there yet, but several events are already scheduled ahead of the match.
Paris Prepares for the Champions League Final
Paris mayor Emmanuel Grégoire announced a huge festive setup around the event. The Eiffel Tower will light up on Friday evening, the night before the final, before sparkling again at kickoff during PSG-Arsenal at the Puskás Arena.
“The entire city of Paris is mobilizing for the Champions League final,” the mayor said. Alongside the Iron Lady dressed in PSG colors, the city’s 150 digital billboards will also display support messages sent by PSG fans through the official City of Paris website.
The Parc des Princes will also be at the heart of the celebrations. A giant screening of the match will be organized inside the stadium, with nearly 48,000 supporters expected for this historic final against the Gunners. Emmanuel Grégoire also confirmed that 500 children from Parisian sports clubs would receive free tickets for the event, while major security measures and traffic restrictions will be put in place throughout the capital.
