Marquinhos picked up an injury while playing for Brazil against Argentina, delivering a significant blow to PSG.
Brazil faced Argentina (0-1) in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers on Tuesday night. The match was marked by Marquinhos’ injury. The 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender had to leave the field at halftime due to a left thigh injury.
“I felt my hamstring during a play; it was painful, which is why I came off. I underwent initial examinations, and it was painful during stretches. I will undergo further tests in Paris. (Too tight for Monaco and Newcastle?) We have to wait. I will arrive in Paris on Thursday; it will be a bit close for Monaco,” he stated.
Regarding the Newcastle match, it also seems doubtful, although Marquinhos did not confirm, saying, “I don’t know how I will feel in a few days. I hope it’s not anything major, so I can play as soon as possible,” said the PSG player.
This is another setback for PSG, which has already lost Warren Zaïre Emery in the midfield. To replace Marquinhos in defense, Luis Enrique is likely to call upon Danilo.
